WELCOME TO HECTORVILLE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

In the words of Pope Francis, “The parish is the presence of the Church in a given territory, an environment for hearing God’s word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, proclamation, charitable outreach, worship and celebration. In all its activities the parish encourages and trains its members to be evangelizers.” (EG.28)

We are a community of around 10,000 Catholics living a few kilometers east of the city centre just where the Adelaide plain begins to rise toward the hills. We are a ‘community of disciples’ of the Hectorville parish whose original church, built in 1863, was the first to serve Adelaide’s eastern suburbs; the families, students and friends of St. Joseph’s school which opened in 1870.

We are committed to being a community where everyone is included, and where everybody, young and old together, support one another to live the healthiest, happiest and most faith filled lives possible. Centred on Christ and His good news, we are also committed to the faith, education and wellbeing of every person, and to bringing about ‘the world God wants:’ a world where all families and persons live lives rich in love, peace, hope and care for all. In this website you will find information about our services in the areas of Faith and worship; Education; Wellbeing (physical, emotional and spiritual); Services and support; Resources and personnel.

We welcome you both to this website and to our community!
